Evaluation of Performance and Environmental Aspect 24 kWp On-Grid Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant on Office Building Roof Top in Jakarta
Abstract
This research presented the evaluation of performance and environmental aspects of on-grid solar photovoltaic (solar PV) which is installed on the rooftop WIKA Tower II Building in Jatinegara - East Jakarta. This system has been operating since mid-February 2020 consisting of 120 nosPV modules in 6 strings, each of module has 200 Wp rating with 24 kWp total power which is connected to the utility network (on-grid). Evaluation of the performance of PV system is very important to find out how effective the system is and how to maintain and development in the future. Data monitoring was carried out for 12 months in the period of March 2020 to February 2021. The evaluation results show the average monthly reference yield and final yield was found to be 4.73 kWh/kWp/day and 2.97 kWh/kWp/day respectively. In this study, it is found that the values of the predicted energy, expected energy, and measured energy are quite different which is 32,001 kWh, 28,593 kWh, and 25,981 kWh respectively. The differences in these values are caused by several factor, such as system modeling, the availability of measurement data, and detailed assumptions that may not be appropriate with the actual. The results of the evaluation found parameters system efficiency, utility factor, and performance ratio is 9.79%, 12.36% and 69.36% respectively. The values of the evaluation results are relatively good and has already compared with previous others study from literature. Furthermore, the PV system also has potentially mitigation of net carbon emission in range 619,892 kg to 629,761 kgCO2eqapproximately over 25 years projection of operation. Keywords - Solar Photovoltaic, Yield, Performance Ratio, CO2 Emission.
