Paper Title
Feasibility Study of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System for Commercial Buildings
Abstract
Commercial establishments are bulk power consumers and generally depend on diesel generating sets for back-up
power to ensure reliable power. Now-a-days, consumers in commercial industry are exploring low-emission clean power
solutions that can ensure reliable power at economical costs. This paper aims to develop an integrated power solution with
Solar PV and Battery Storage for commercial buildings. A combination of grid power, diesel generator, solar and energy
storage system are studied using HOMER Software. The comparison of the different combinations is evaluated considering
cost of energy and net present cost. Studies suggest that the grid connected power integrated with solar PV and energy
storage system offers optimal solution in terms of cost of energy and reliability.
