Paper Title
Protection Against Flash Hazards In 400 kV Air-Insulated Substations Using EPRI HVAC AF in The Electric Transient Analyzer Program
Abstract
The paper addresses the hazards associated with flashovers in a 400kV substation and examines these risks using
ETAP software. The study encompasses the identification of hazards, quantification of energy, and recommendations for
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The project includes load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and relay coordination,
adhering to industry standards. Furthermore, the study delineates the substation's design and protection schemes and
provides insights into managing loads at various voltage levels. The primary aim of this study is to augment safety protocols
and mitigate the risks of flashovers in high-voltage substations.
