Paper Title
Sliding Mode with PI Control Strategy of Flying Capacitor Multilevel Inverter
Abstract
In this paper, a sliding mode control (SMC) is applied to the current loop of a Flying Capacitor Multilevel
Inverter (FCMI), with a PI (Proportional Integral) controller required for the voltage loop. SMC is applied to ensure high
output current stability and performance against large parameter variations and external disturbances. The system (FCMI) is
powered by a photovoltaic generator (GPV) under conditions of unstable solar irradiance and variable load in order to
validate the performance of this control method. This control strategy is easy to implement and ensures stability and good
dynamic response under a wide range of operating conditions. The simulation results prove the robustness and accuracy of
the proposed technique, in comparison to conventional methods.
