Paper Title
Application of Voltage Look-Up Table Method in Hybrid Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter for Reduction of Total Harmonic Distortion

Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the different control schemes used in multilevel inverters. A new strategy called Voltage look-up table method has been introduced in this research work which can be used for reduction of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in various multilevel inverters. This method reduces the requirement of filtering circuit at the output of an inverter. A forty-nine level hybrid inverter with less number of switches has been modeled and the voltage look-up table method has been applied for optimum switching of the thyristors. This method is found very effective in minimizing the switching stresses on the switches thereby increasing the life of the inverter. Simulation has been performed in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the objective of this research. Keywords - Multilevel inverter (MLI), Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), PWM, Voltage look-up table.
