Control and Monitoring of Electrical Substation using SCADA System

Abstract
Substation automation plays an important role in reducing manual effort in control and monitoring technology. With the use of SCADA software and other technologies control and monitoring become more efficient. Also load management has become more important to meet the power supply demand. In this paper, architecture of SCADA and various elements of it are discussed. Features and functionalities of SCADA software used has been discussed. The implementation of automatic load management using programmable logic using SCADA software is explained. HMI is implemented for graphical representation of the power line systems.
