Paper Title
Simulation and Experimental Verification of Flow Field of Under-Seat Air Distribution System
Abstract
The theater buildings have ultra-large space and special requirement of NC value, in order to meet the requirements
for energy saving and carbon reduction, the mixed dilution air conditioning and stratified displacement air-conditioning
system are mixed. In addition, as the landform is stepped, and the seats in the seating area obstruct the air flow, the general
mixed dilution air conditioning is inapplicable to ventilation. Therefore, the air-conditioning system is designed in the cases
of low noise, low air velocity, uniform distribution and not influencing the pedestrian circulation, the air is supplied under the
seats to condition the theater space. This study aims at the air supply system under the auditorium seats in an opera house in
central Taiwan, and discusses the air flow distribution in the seating area. The built model laboratory is used for experimental
measurement of air flow field, and the CFD software is used to simulate the air flow field distribution pattern. The simulation
results are compared with experimental values, the CFD has accurate simulation results. In addition, according to the
experimental and simulation results, the air from the air-conditioning system using under-seat ventilation can be guided by the
seat back, and the rear stepped return air inlet guides the conditioned air flow through the seating area, reducing the air
conditioning load of unmanned area, the heat load of manned area is taken away with a low cooling load and air output to
provide a comfortable environment.
