The Stepper Motor Drive System Design by MATLAB/SIMULINK and FPGA
Abstract
The design and simulation for a desired control system are easily implemented on Matlab/Simulink. Furthermore,
hardware control system designed by Matlab/Simulink and FPGA has been widely used for the motor drive system. A
hardware system realized by FPGA with complicated functions is hardly to be implemented directly through the programming
of Verilog code. However, using Matlab/Simulink to construct most of the functions of the motor drive system is more
convenient and efficient, and the resulting codes could be optimized directly by the edit of Verilog code. In this paper, we
demonstrate the programming of a stepper motor drive system by way of the Matlab/Simulink, and implement the hardware
control system by FPGA. Simulations and experiments are demonstrated to show the performances.
